Portraits for the Slagle family

Clayton is funny, I was looking through photos I did for our cousins (the Slagles) and Clayton exclaimed "Hey those are my friends. I have a lot of friends huh dad."

The Slagle family was brave enough to have me take their family portraits. I had a lot of fun, and wanted to share some of results.

The Slagles are cousins (Brandy is more like a sister than a cousin). Brandy wanted red in the family portrait to contrast with the green she painted her family room. I suggested that we make portraits when the leaves turn red.

Aren't the Slagels a beautiful family (it comes from the Marx side;)

Sometimes the sun can create cool effects like lens flare.

Something a little different...

Da boyz...

Da Girlz (the girls rule the house by more than sheer numbers)...

See Brook in the middle? She is the most photogenic girl I have ever met.

One of the fun moments was when I had mom and dad do a couple's photo. All the kids were chanting along with me Kiss, Kiss, Kiss... The kids thought it was great!

Here is Kennedy...

And Natalie...

Brook...

Ethan...

Mom and Dad again...

This is probably my favorite...

Had to pull out the strobe for some of these, can you tell which???

Chances are, the color you've captured is already gone by now. But I wondered if you might share the location used for these pictures? If not publicly, perhaps in private? (to reply privately send to david @ dterryphotography.com)

Thanks,
David

No secrets here. This is up Ogden canyon, just past Pine View reservoir. I don't know what the street is that heads up to the valley but it is just before trappers loop road. I will send you a map.

I came to leave the same comment as Dave. Perhaps add this location and your photos to the Photowalking Utah portrait location map? Excellent location and series Nathan.

That is a good idea. I will have to drop a tag, I haven't used the map before, so I may be asking questions about its use.

These are great. Can I ask, bare flash or diffuser of some sort? They look great!
