The sequence

Sometimes the sequence of photos is what makes a photo interesting. Here is my dare devil niece diving sledding down a small but very steep slope of snow. She wasn't hurt at least not enough to stop her from trying the hill again and again.

It is difficult to see, but the distance she had air time is easily 6 feet.

Smith family

Recently I had the immense pleasure to shoot the Scott Smith family. Scott had a location all picked out, all I had to do was show up with my camera and shoot everyone. Ohh and we hauled their couch into the great outdoors!

This photo was my one of my favorites. I find that I prefer portraits that look less posed and more spotaneous. Scott has such a beautiful family! It was a great way to spend an evening! Thanks Scott for giving me the opportunity and for showing me a new awesome location!

Big sister

I figure most people are like me when looking at photoblogs. The words appear as blah, blah, blah then time is spent looking at the pictures. Well here is a little eye candy, my wifes oldest sister...

Kelly needed a headshot for the work she will be doing in the future (staging homes). She staged our home, she has a real eye and talent for doing so. Of all the wifes sisters, Kelly and my wife look the most similar (all the wife's sisters are beautiful, but mine is the most beautiful of all, hahahaha).

Family Friends

I recently had the opportunity to capture family photos for the Cook family. It is always a pleasure to be able to do something friends. Airen the oldest daughter has modeled for me before. Really great people.

The day we picked to do the photos was extremely windy. We were up on the bench above Bountiful. Wind or no, the Cooks are an extremely busy family. The boys arrived just off of football practice. So we made due...

I think the wind got the kids riled up so getting them to hold still was a chore. What to do, get photos of them running off some of that steam!

Airen is the oldest, I just love this photos of big sister getting a kiss. See how the wind is blowing Airen's hair?

I didn't mention it, but for some of the last shots I had a lighting assistant, the wind would have taken away my light if not for this little guy on the right:

Beautiful children

What other beautiful children would I want to share pictures of but my own? It has been a while since I have shared much, thought I would do a short update on family life. The kids are getting so big!

Silverfork lodge

Last weekend we spent a few nights at the Silverfork Lodge. We went to relax, unfortunately no one told Vivian the plan. We had nights of little sleep, but that is another story. I did want to however share a few pictures from the trip

I woke up early (maybe I never went to sleep), to catch the light at Silver lake. Now I don't consider myself a nature photographer, but every once in a while it is fun to shoot something a little different.





Once the light started to rise to high to be called good, I started to leave and saw this guy.



I, Papa, and Clayton headed up to the reservoir above the lake to fish. I have taken Clayton fishing several times, but with no luck.



This time, Papa hooked one that Clayton then helped pull in. Pretty cool day for Clayton!

Kids wanna have fun

Recently we went to a family birthday with cousins (Marx side of the family). There is a ton of little ones for Clayton to play with (and soon Vivian). I just wanted to share a few pics from the party, mostly of the kids having fun:

Arches National park

Arches is most known for its beautiful natural arches like the iconic delicate arch. With the kids in tow, it was difficult to make it to any of the arches that required more than a few minutes to hike to, but who says you can't get great photos on the beaten path? Just plop down in the middle of the road and you have it (just watch for cars)...



We did make it to some of the arches, though not at the time of day photographers hope for (harsh mid-day sun).



The kids had fun, but someone is missing...
